Dale Christian Winkelspecht
Wednesday (explains a lot) December 21, 1966 to Sunday April 14, 2019
Born in Baltimore Maryland, Dale lived in Baltimore, Pennsauken NJ, Fairview NJ, Staunton VA, Brunswick MD, Leesburg VA, with various stops in New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia and other places along the way. Dale spent his final days in Indianapolis, comforted by his good friend Jean Ullrich. He was a world traveler, visiting at least four continents, eventually finding someone special in the Ukraine.
Dale leaves behind his two children, Jake and Yulia, with his former wife Yaryna; his mother Donna; his grandmother Irene; his sister Lonnie and her children, Anjelica and Julie; his uncles Dr. John Wells, Dennis Wells and many friends and accomplices. He goes on to join his father Richard Winkelspecht, his brother Richard “Buddy” Winkelspecht, his nephew Bobby Benner, his uncle Jeff Sinsel, and other relatives and friends who passed before him.
Dale earned a Masters degree in Education, and taught visually impaired and blind students at Virginia State School for the Deaf and Blind and at Loudoun County Public Schools. His great passion for music led him to teach himself to play guitar, and he would often call people in the middle of the night with “I figured it out!” and share the new lick, etude or solo he had just deciphered. He didn’t play just both kinds of music (country AND western), but all kinds of music, mostly rhythm and blues, along with jazz, hard rock, and harder rock.
Peace be with you, Brother, we’ll miss those 2am phone calls.
